    School Information: Oakwood Terrace Elementary serves over 600 students and their families. As a School Wide Title I campus, we offer several innovative programs in order to meet the unique and diverse needs of our students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. In addition to our 51 classroom teachers, we also have one ESL teachers, two special education teachers, a GT specialist, and an Instructional Specialist and a Bilingual Concept Instructionalist. We also have a music teacher, an art teacher, one physical education teacher and an assistant, a nurse, a librarian, and a full time counselor. Collaboration and teamwork enable us to efficiently serve the Oakwood Terrace community. Some special events that take place each year at Oakwood Terrace include PTA Meetings and events, Math Nights, and an Extended Day afterschool program.

    As our students leave Oakwood Terrace for Euless Jr. High or Central Jr. High and eventually Trinity High School, we want them to possess the characteristics that will enable them to live and work meaningfully and successfully in school, society, and the workplace. It is our goal that each Oakwood Terrace student develops the following skills:

    • Effective Communicator who successfully uses the skills of listening, speaking, writing, reading, mathematics, and technological presentations.
    • Competent Problem-Solver who not only can identify problems and the information needed to resolve the problems, but can also act on the information gathered.
    • Self-Directed Learner who continually seeks knowledge and takes responsibility for their own learning.
    • Responsible Citizen who is honest, self-disciplined, respectful of others, and not only accepts, understands, and deals with diversity, but is appreciative of differences; and, in a cooperative manner, contributes to the welfare of the community.

    Información Escolar:La Escuela Primaria Oakwood Terrace sirve a mas de 700 estudiantes y sus familias. Siendo una plantel de Titulo ofrecemos diversos programas inovadores para satisfacer diferentes necesidades desde Pre-Kinder hasta 6to. Grado. Además de nuestros 51 maestros regulares, contamos con 1 maestra de ESL, 2 maestras de Educación Especial, una especialista en Estudios Academicos Avanzados (GT), y dos maestras especializadas. También contamos con una maestra de Musica, Arte y un maestro de Educación Fisica y una asistente, una Enfermera, una Bibliotecaria, una Consejera. Algunos de los eventos que se llevan a cabo en O.T cada año se incluyen las juntas de Mesa Directiva Escolar (PTA), la Noche de Bingo de Libros

    Cuando nuestros estudiantes dejan Oakwood Terrace terminaran en cualquiera de las dos siguientes secundarias: Central Jr. High ó Euless Jr. High y eventualmente irán a Trinity High School. Por tal razón queremos que posean las características que los lleven a vivir una vida con un propósito positivo tanto en la escuela, en la sociedad y en su trabajo. Nuestro objetivo en Oakwood Terrace esque cada estudiante desarrolle lo siguiente:

    • Comunicación Efectiva y desarrollo de la habilidad de escuchar, hablar, escribir y leer, matemáticas y presentaciones tecnológicas.
    • Resolver Problemas Competentemente que no solo puedan identificar los problemas y la información necesaria, sino que también pueda resolverlos con la información proporcionada.
    • Aprender por si mismo y buscar continuamente maneras de aprender y tomar iniciativa en aprender más.
    • Ser ciudadanos honestos, auto-disciplinados, respetuosos y que no solo acepte pero que también entienda diversidad, pero al mismo tiempo aprecie las diferencias, que sea cooperativo y contribuya para el bienestar de la comunidad.

    Programa Instruccional: Pre-Kinder hasta 6to Grado, Educación Fisica, Música, Biblioteca, Laboratorio de Computación, Programa de intervención tipo (walk-to), el programa en computadora Istations, Alfabetización en Escritura y Lectura en Grados de Primaria, Educación Especial, Inglés como segundo Idioma (ESL), PEAK (programa para alumnos talentosos) Terapia para el Habla. Librería de Alfabetización Temprana, Conserjería.
